Its hardish, yes but its DLC! Your probably running around with level 100s by now and its so easy to stomp through his team even though its cool, so making it an honest challenge would make it worth. Also Mega's should have come back, idk why they didn't but it would have been rad to see this guy not only pull out the G-Max Urshifu but also have a Mega Medicham just rock your shit.

Would be a cool way to introduce them to the Galar region no matter the love/hate relationship with them. You go a whole game dealing with G-Max and D-Max pokemon but here they could have introduced Megas to the mix to shake things up.

Some Mega's look cool just like some G-Maxes look cool. Its a gimmick mechanic with some diamonds in the rough. Both if not all gimmicks have their broken aspects, all I'm saying is it would have been cool to see this as a surprise with no fanfare before it. Just suddenly "Yo Mustards busting out his Mega" that would be cool.

These are subjective opinions. Not facts. I love the design of some G-Max Pokemon and some Mega Evolution Pokemon, but what I like will be different from what you like in terms of visuals.

Dynamax Pokemon take a ton of hits with very high powered moves. This got banned in Smogon for a reason. That does not make it bad either, its just a gimmick just like Megas are.

So? You can apply this to any of your Pokemon. I can't apply Mega Salamence or Mega Gengar's retardation to any of my Pokemon. I have to use my own Mega Salamence or Mega Gengar. It breaks and warps the game in a retarded way.

This doesn't make the gimmick better though. You still have to counter Dynamaxing with Dynamaxing and the other counter options are no good either. Not to mention, the strong pokemon only get stronger with Dynamaxing and the weak ones get a little better but are sill supremely outclassed thanks to the fact that you can still hold items while Dmaxed! You can have pokemon tank through stream after stream of attack all the while, setting up the field for ability plays and mechanics or straight up dealing some nutty damage. Its very powerful and not good in terms of competitive play imo due to its limited counter options.
Both are gimmicks they both are not perfect.

face it anon, some of them are good, some of them are bad. That's true for both mega and G-max. Hell, mega and g-max design concepts for venusaur and gengar are basically the same.
