what am I looking at?
Kubfu approaches directly in front of the photo but came from an angle and has to turn to face it properly? This kind of stuff happens with game engine cutscenes all the time, and Pokemon doesn't use animatic cutscenes, ever.

With the power of the Nintendo Switch Masuda-San was able to make Pokémon animation more expensive despite how hard is to make video games. This is more impressive if we consider that Game Freak is a small indie company.

Firstly that's not much of an accomplishment.
Secondly, it's not graphics but the sloppy animation that is the issue.
