Is he viable now? Or has at least a niche? I could see him having a synergy with Rillaboom with Grassy Glide and Poltergeist

I disagree, they seem like they'll complement each other extremely well. Decidueye has strong ghost movest to bust up all the stuff rillaboom can't like corviknight, and shadow sneak/sucker punch for dragapult.

Someone made it up the UU ladder with a grass spam core of those two already recently, and that was obviously before grassy glide.

I think the team archetype should be considered now that there's boosted priority and poltergeist in the mix.

At least Rillaboom was already decent without Grassy Glide.

Yes but he doesn't have grassy terrain so Rillaboom is already viable for OU slot. Grassy terrain boost with Grassy glide, and stab. Plus before Grassy slide people ran choice scarf for Rillaboom speed. Now Choice band Rillaboom is much more viable due to having access to the strongest priority move in the game and can use U-turn.

I think the anon meant Dhelmise in conjunction with Rillaboom. Apparently someone laddered UU with Rillaboom and Decidueye before the new tutor moves.

The question is how viable would Rillaboom be when paired with either Decidueye or Dhelmise

So how good would grass types become of all the sun based abilities and moves are now applicable in grassy terrain? Never got why grass types needed to rely on sun so much when it also boosts the power of fire types. Imagine something like grassy terrain+chlorophyll+growth+solar beam/blade.
