Why doesn't Nintendo force Gamefreak to take a backseat and let another dev take on Pokemon Mainline games? Gamefreak is such a lazy, incompetent, shitty fucking studio that they don't deserve the franchise anymore. New Pokemon Snap looks.... absolutely outrageously better than the mainline games by Gamefreak. Let Bandai Namco make the next mainline game. It is inconceivable to me that they make a detailed 3D world like this for a photography game but still refuse to make an actual main-series pokemon game in this kind of environment. I cannot imagine a game that, conceptually, would be more well-received than that. There are literally thousands of mobile phone games out now that are more fleshed out and evolved than the mainline pokemon games are. Gamefreak is pathetic.

If the ownership of The Pokemone Company is split is 33%/33%/33% between Nintendo, Gamefreak, and Creatures Inc., they are better off outsourcing the main games. Nintendo will have to profit share with the other two whether or not Gamefreak actually develops the games. Gamefreak clearly doesn't give a shit about developing the Pokemon games - and they'll get the 33% profit anyways. And a mainline Pokemon game developed with the same ambition of BotW or Super Mario Odessy would indisputably be the one of the biggest games of all time - everyone wins in that scenario. The only issue would be the 3 TPC owners having to go AT WORST 25%/25%/25%/25% with whichever development company they get to develop the mainline game - and most likely either Nintendo does it themselves or they 3rd party doesn't get a full 25% split. Obviously the labour cost to Nintendo would increase as they devote developers to the new Pokemon game but they would be easily offset by sales or negotiated with Gamefreak/Creatures to cover some of that cost
