Blaziken can turn it's flames on and off too, your problem is with Typhlosion, cause they're pretty consistent on the flames since 3d modeling.

It was, it was a misinterpretation. They fixed that error later as Charizard and other Fire types are shown bathing in and drinking water with no ill effects.

I get the argument that it doesn't look as cool or battle ready without them and I absolutely agree that it should have them on permanently in battle, but this idea that not having flames somehow makes it look ugly or retarded is one of the most dipshitted things that /vp/ likes to parrot

Masuda has been asked multiple times about whether or not Pokemon are killed for food in-universe and he always denies or avoids it despite the fact that you encounter dishes explicity made from pokemon meat throughout the series.

Because several Pokemon are basically the same thing, but with magical powers. And they haven't really sidestepped anything. Pokemon eating other Pokemon is a well known fact, they just don't show it because of this franchise's target demographic.
