The base game wild area feels even more barren and empty now with isle of armor out and actually having a semblance of level design.

This actually gives me a bit of hope that gamefreak will make whatever they make next much more dynamic and intresting, considering the sheer difference between the base game and the other developed dlc

I honestly wouldn't mind if gen 9 completely scraps routes in favour of a large wild area that connects the towns together. Route design has been terrible ever since they removed HMs.

I just want a pokemon game with wild areas like Isle of armor but x10 the size. Fix Pokemon pop-in and better graphics.then it'd be perfect.

whats the likelyhood that gf patches the wild area to improve it? it looks so empty...maybe even paid dlc "Improved wild area only 59,99" => people would buy that 100%

I’m hoping that positive reception for what they’ve done with Isle of Armor will entice Game Freak into doing what they can to dress up the Wild Area’s most important segments, or they might realistically just enable following Pokemon in the standard map and address non-visual grievances.

Hrmm... perhaps that’ll be possible in Gen 9, Game Freak has a habit of realizing their fullest potential at the end of a platform’s life-cycle, see Gen 5 and Gen 7.

Maybe if there is a third DLC, patch, whatever it can just improve base game and patch in the remaining 200ish Pokemon that won't be in Tundra. That would win back a ton of good will.
