I only see articles saying "if you have a level 60 pokemon the game will scale" with IGN guessing itd be the same if you had level 100. The base game wild areas has scaling too and it caps at 60-70. They should have just left it at "no matter where you are in the story you'll be able to enjoy it" instead of vaguely mentioning level scaling

If you haven't beat Leon, the game assumes you're a new player and everything is low leveled. If you have beat Leon, everything is 60+ just like the Wild Area mons

Hell, there was just a bunch of blatantly wrong information from a lot of people. Some sources kept saying that EXP Charm focuses experience to a specific Pokemon instead of everyone, which was completely false.

They probably should give players an option to scale to all trainers and the player to lvl 50 battle tower style, considering theres only like 10 trainer battles in the dlc and none have full teams.

scale to same lvl + coverage moves + maxed ev is the only way you can do a hard mode in these games

I started a brand new save for the purpose of the dlc being added. (Sent my fav moms to home then back into the game) I went to the dlc as soon as I could and the rival was at the levels shown in pictures. (I had a level 80 odd Intelleon in my pc) Got my ass handed to me so went to do some more story stuff and headed back shortly. The scaling seemed to work for me. If you wanna sweep with your moms from the main game then you cannot complain. If you wanna play the dlc try going in with only one mon and use a team compromised of those available on the dlc. It’s not that hard... everyone on this board seems to whinge for no reason. The game is aimed at children use your adult brain to make a challenge for yourself.
