since it’s pretty much confirmed that they are adding back all the pokemon and adding the rest of the dlc legendaries it will be better than IoA

Isle of Armor was a big improvement over the wild area. I expect Crown Tundra will also be an improvement. The fact that the theme of the DLC is "exploration" is also promising, given how Game Freak have been actively removing exploration from the series ever since gen 5.

That's funny because wasn't the theme of IoA supposed to be, "Fighting," and yet there are only 4 piss easy battles and the baby mode Kubfu towers in the story?

The theme was growth, technically you do watch your kubfu grow throughout the extremely short story but it could have done with a lot more training and battling facilities.

They already did. Both DLCs are finished in development. They're already developing Part 3 right now which will have all of the remaining Pokemon.

This, I wouldn't be surprised if they drop a surprise DLC that's part of the pack, or a free DLC this summer or after Tundra, who knows. But to leave out only 200ish Pokemon at this point is just retarded. Perhaps we'll get an update when gen 4 remakes come out.

VGC changes its allowed Pokemon every season so having a limited selection wasn't new. If anything 2019 and 2020 have been bad because they're starting to do this drip feed of "every month new Pokemon are added" so whereas before you could make a team and have it be largely static for the full year, you now need to relearn the meta every two months and make drastic team changes accordingly. Regardless, past VGCs have usually followed a format of season one, regional pokedex, season two national pokedex, season three national pokedex with restricted pokemon (cover legendaries), so it was clearly always their plan from the start to patch them in eventually.
