You're telling me one of the fastest Pokémon in the game can't keep up with a 10 year old boy?

Furthermore, there are other ways to have Pokémon keep up with you. If you're on a bike, they should be in their ball. Tiny or small Pokémon should be on your shoulder on your head. Large Pokemon should be rideable. Realistically only Pokemon like Torkoal and such would fall behind you, but I'm sure nobody would care if they're fast enough to follow you around without having to teleport every 5 seconds.

SWSH had a 3 year development cycle that began its concept stage around SM's finalization and was made simultaneously with USUM, LGPE, and Little Town Hero. That's why there's an NPC in SM referencing power spots and posters in USUM showing g-max toxtricity and other Galarian pokemon.

No. You're confusing art style with engine. Obviously the main series gen 8 games followed the organic terrain style from gen 7's sun/moon/us/um. But with let's go, it's pretty clear they were testing features that could be implemented from the get go in the next generation games
They intentionally decided to remake a short and simple pokemon game. They could've easily remade diamond/pearl for the money, but they chose not to since that would mean more pokemon to include in the game just for the purpose of testing

Dragapult's speed is a result of it firing Dreepy's insanely fast, not because it actually moves fast. Same reason Vikavolt has a low speed stat but is one of the fastest follow mons.

They clearly intended swooshit to be on the 3ds since gf didnt believe the switch would be succesful. Like little town hero is a project to trained their employees, they made a small game quickly to see how it could looks in hd, thats lets go. Thats why theres files for oras nx too and like little town hero they sell it because they could. And they ported swooshit inside those 3 years.

I love the theory that Nintendo got Pokemon to make games for the Console by making the Switch a hybrid system and letting them make phone/3ds ports only to pull the rug out from under that plan when the system started selling.
It has me wondering if the promise about Home being able to port over Go Pokemon directly was made because phone app/3ds versions of Sw/Sh were in development so it would be easier to code transferals. Them gone means the entire plan for Home/Go may have had to be restructured.

LGPE used a different engine and is tile based. And while there are libraries and algorithms that have existed for decades to program pathing in 3D environments, GF clearly decided to ignore those and make their own.

The reduced pokedex attempts like Lets Go and SWSH had felt like a great opportunity to sort of create more cohesive gameplay experiences that could cause what used to require your imagination to make sense actually tangible with 3D graphics and modern technologies. Any Pokemon of a certain size that can learn Surf could be ridden considering they're scaled properly and Wild Areas can use hit detection instead of traditional grid based calculations. You could actually make players think about their parties by utilizing only certain Pokemon on the sea (like the one you ride or flying/floating Pokemon or even some dumb hold item like the Balloon) since the Wild Area doesn't have trainers target you with line of sight. I think actually using the Pokemon's speed is hilarious. Seeing Slowpoke just chug along 6 miles behind you is absolutely perfect and feels exactly how it should. I think working on how they snap back to you should be reconfigured, like just having an animation where you recall them to their ball. Smaller pokemon might just be more sensible if they ride you like Pikachu did in Let's Go. There's a lot of potential but as it is now, it's awkward.

Counter point to this, in HGSS some pokemon were too big for certain areas and buildings. Out of the entire 900+ pokemon that exist in canon, maybe 40 (being generous) of them would be too big for buildings for SwSh.

It doesn't even really need any of those. The biggest sin of the game is that it's a full $60 when it doesn't really add anything to the original Kanto formula that an already-free game did first. The next biggest issue is how badly candies break the game and how many free healing items you're just handed with every encounter. If Exp All is going to be permanently active, they also needed to have fixed experience gain. It was way too easy to become overleveled in that game.
