>>43939479The second saddest thing about Meteor Beam is that it's legit the best Special Rock-type move in the game. Thanks to the guaranteed Special Attack boost, even if you account for accuracy it'll deal more damage on average over two turns than a pair of Power Gems
>120 BP * 1.5 (+1 Sp. Atk) * 0.9 (90 acc) = 162 BP (expected)>80 BP * 2 = 160 BPEven if they switch to a resist, whatever came in probably took a respectable chunk of damage (read: 30-40% from any STAB user with more than 90 base Sp. Atk) and now you get a chance to shoot off a boosted coverage move to finish the job.
The saddest thing about Meteor Beam is, in my opinion, the fact that "any STAB user with more than 90 base Sp. Atk" currently translates to "literally just Lunatone", and Lunatone is even more garbage than Meteor Beam is. Whoever decided on the tutor moves and their learnsets for the DLC should be cursed to always walk in shoes that have between 3 and 6 small pebbles in them that somehow cannot be removed.
>you are now aware that Power Gem Dialga and Palkia out-damaged any Special STAB Rock-type move until Diancie picked up Power Gem in Gen VII
