Damn. I'm now disappointed because Galar doing a set of starters which were Grass/Fire/Water but all 3 gained Dragon typing when fully evolved could have been interesting.

It's an analogy, a play on the now-debunked "tough, cool, feminine" with one getting in Smash. I'm not saying Corviknight will get into Smash lmao, just building the trio like OP said and playing with that trope.

Interesting, I didn't know Dark Rising did this already. Still prefer my picks by a landslide since Salamence is fugly and Garchomp gets enough spotlight in its own region/is too strong.

Some of these don't work backwards. They're supposed to super effective against one, not very effective against the other. This includes trios that feature neutral damage or straight up immunity

Yep, but there are only a handful that actually work and I'd personally say it's not that important when it only effects your starter and your rivals starter. And when you throw secondary types into the mix it all becomes a mess anyway.
