I don't know about instinct, but there are Pokemon in the anime that have all fallen for human trainers before: Chikorita, Latias, and (I think) Aipom fell for Ash and the most obvious one Mareanie fell for James.
I can't recall a single moment where any Pokemon has fallen for any female characters in the show or movie. Anyone remember one?
