What do these games have in common? Their OST is far and above the series greatest. Especially Black and White

You're forgetting that Gen 5 had the best OST in the entire series. He arranged the last Pokemon gym leader theme, skyarrow bridge and route 10. I also forgot, but he also was the composer for XY and arranged Lavere city and Snowbelle city. He is far and above the best composer in the series.

Different partially deaf anon here. Humans are never exposed to "true" silence. Even if you get in a sensory deprevation room or do something as simple as covering your ears, you will still hear noises produced by your own body (ie. Blood pressure, heartbeats, etc) and people who do get exposed to "silence" rooms apparently go nuts after being left there for long periods of time. I am legitimately terrified of going full deaf; I can never sleep unless my "working ear" is not being covered by a pillow.

If anything I'd say BW and LGPE were his best stuff. HGSS is mostly worse than the original stuff and ORAS is very hit or miss. You have some really good ones like the Aqua/Magma Leader battle theme and then you have butchered shit like Route 113.

Gen 2 mostly due to nostalgia. I almost returned my copy of HG after listening to the new version of Goldenrod City tho. I liked a lot of gen III music, IV had a couple of decent tracks but being honest I don't even remember the names. Most of the soundtrack of Gen 5 was bretty gud. 6 and 7 were kinda meh. Sword and Shield have catchy tunes but other than Marnie theme and Hop's rematch team, they are either very short loops that could've been something great (ie. Dynamax Den themes) or are stuff that has been used in generations before but are still catchy (ie. Leon's champion theme).

But the SWSH ost turned out to be terrible as well because Ichinose decided to be lazy and reuse his melodies over and over again and Adachi is still mediocre

So it really just proves that Hitomi Sato is the glue that makes a good ost

SM has a soulful soundtrack, better than the souless OST of BW and XY. It's after Gen 2 and 4 in terms of good music. Stuff like Seafolk, Malie, Konikoni, Vast Poni Canyon etc are all amazing and show how good the OST is in general, mostly thanks to having no Shota Kageyama and tons of Go Ichinose + Hitomi Sato and Minako Adachi magic

It's actually pretty good Anon. What don't you like about it? Personally I think it's one of the best in the entire series. It's incredibly diverse, giving us variations of gym themes depending on the type, making the music dynamic, etc.

I agree had the best battle themes. I'd put Gen 4 over Gen 2 for route themes and I'd say Gen 2 had the best music for towns and cities. Blackthorn city's theme on the GBC is amazing and one of my favorite songs in the entire series.
