What was his reason to fight you at that point? He had already fucked up his plan of harvesting Eternatus's energy, and Leon was taking care of it at that point. What was he going to accomplish by beating you there?

Maybe he hoped/knew Leon would fail and tried to stop you from helping so everything went to absolute hell? Like everything turned out so badly he just lost all hope and wanted to see everything burn, like the biggest "fuck this"? I really don't know, man.

His mannerisms before the battle made me think he was testing himself. Like, if he could beat you then maybe what he did wasn't completely wrong and he wasn't a complete failure. There's also the possibility that he was just trying to keep you deadlocked and away from Leon for as long as possible like >>43946481 said.

Weren't the wolves summoned by Hop and the Player using the Rusty Sword and Shield? I don't think Zacian and Zamazenta would've showed up if it wasn't for them.

basically but it was like the sword/shield reacted to the energy of eternatus going into gigantamax or maybe it was because they were holding onto them at the time specifically, during the first time you meet them they aren't fully tangible apparently since your attacks just go through them but suddenly they are after their relics are put into the same spot as the source of dynamax energy, i hope the anime would go into this more even if it's just a game for my little sister

Why would i want to stop Leon? He's trying to fix the mess Rose made.
When we reach Leon after beating Rose we don't tell him to stop, we intervene only when it's obvious he doesn't have the situation in control.
