If Pokemon ever got a difficulty option in the future(easy, normal, hard), how would you make each mode different outside of

hard mode the gym leaders have 6 mons even at the first gym also in hard mode give a wider variety of mons to catch.

literally all you need is to change the AI
have the normal trainer AI for normal mode
use movesets that cover weaknesses and tougher AI (without hax) for hard mode

no exp share pre-elite 4, no legendaries pre-elite 4, gym leaders at slightly higher level, trainers give slightly less money

>hard
same as normal mode, but:
pre-elite mart items don't sell healing items or are very expensive if they do, healing items and x-items in general are rare, all trainers have higher level pokemon, pokemon centers are more spread out, strong wild pokemon are harder to catch and balls are more expensive so you have to calculate risk/reward whether you want to hunt strong pokemon

Gyms force level-scaling to 50 and enforce online rules such as no using the bag you can not leave a gym until you fully complete it. Gym leaders use Stadium styled teams that focus on a tactic while not being entirely monotype

hard mode: all trainer pokemon scaled to 50 and have egg moves. experience gained in battle is applied after the battle is finished. all trainers have minimum of 3 pokemon. gym leaders start having full teams starting with gym 5. all wild pokemon have a chance at having random egg moves
