See, this is what I don't fully get: if proto-pokeballs were just hollowed apricorns with mechanical device put inside (we know this is how it happens, it says so when Kurt does balls for us), then what does it mean when they say that modern pokeball were invented? The mechanical parts already existed. Why it took people so long to replace apricorn shell with artifically manufactured one?
