Pyukumuku was cute, but had a "gross" element to balance it out, which takes excellent inspiration from the species it's based on. It was also an underdog you could root for without needing a defined personality, just due to the fact tourists think they're disgusting, and they dry up and die if nobody helps them back into the sea.
Meanwhile, Snom is literally just an ice grub. It's not interesting, but for some reason everyone circlejerked around it with those obnoxious """Wholesome""" memes, making it almost as insufferable as that Baby Yoda shit that's still somehow popular.
Even worse is Snom has an evolution that has a way more fleshed out and arguably cuter design.
Snom isn't a Pyukumuku copy/paste. It's a cheap walmart imitation that's more popular for some reason.
