Making Apricorn Balls behind a time-limited AND gacha elements is going full retard.
The wild area is much better aesthetically, and being able to get certain late game mons early game (Pincurchin) is great, but navagating it to grind Max Raids is even worse than the original Wild Area. And with Game Freak seemingly not slowing down when it comes to Max Raid Events, even grinding Armorite Ores without exploits will be a pain in the ass.
Isle of Armor as a postgame venture is shit. All they did was insert a flag that makes the levels 60 through 67. They could have at least evolved the Pokemon so it wouldn't feel like a complete joke. It's much better as content attempted between Gyms 1 through 4 as you can capture the majority of the Pokemon on the Isle the moment you get there and more variety in a playthrough is always welcomed. Although I will give it to them for Mustard's final battle in the postgame (even though you have to babysit Hop's dumbass to get to it).
There are QoL features that are nice to see, but they really shouldn't be locked behind a $30 paywall. They should have been included in a free update.
Following Pokemon is not only restricted to the Isle, but its also the laziest attempt by Game Freak. Let's Go's following mechanics were done so much better.
Restricted Sparring is alright, and much better than the gutted piece of shit they tried to sell us as Galar's Battle Tower.
Overall its meh and if you're on the fence about the DLC, just hold on until November or whatever. It has me hold much doubts about Crown Tundra but considering the main draw of Part 2 DLC is the Legendary Hunt and Galarian Star Tournament, it might be more geared towards the postgame (or even it's inaccessible until you become Champion, but this is Game Freak we're talking about...) There is plenty good about Isle of Armor, but also plenty bad as well.
