>>43961076>None of those things are examples of the writing being convolutedI'm not saying the plot is convoluted, I'm not the anon who said it was such. It's fucking Dragon Ball, it's not complex, I even said as much.
>You don't know what a deus ex machina isNo, you don't. A deus ex machina is an introduced convenience that requires the plot to keep moving forward. No, Namekian fusion does not beat Frieza. Yes, it was a newly added convenience so that Frieza didn't murder everyone on Namek instantly. Yes, dragon upgrading was established. No, the plot deciding the dragon upgraded itself conveniently perfectly at the right time so that Porunga could bring back all of Earth when Vegeta needed it in the Buu saga is not good writing. I could go on.
This also isn't even addressing the sheer number of asspulls (Cabba somehow figuring out how to go SSJ in fucking minutes) or deus ex machinas oriented towards the villain to build manufactured tension (Infinite Zamasu's creation, Goku getting fucked by some random shitter laser).
>Yes? I mean they're literally criticized for reusing framesThen why did you even make the claim? Lol
>Says the dude that makes a wall of text to say its badI didn't say it's bad, I said your analysis is trash, and no, greentexting and discussion of common plot devices is not as bad as requiring huge walls of text to say why something is good.
>Did you want me to say "it's good" and call it a day?Yes, because it comes off as less pretentious and faggy than some lecture on muh western values.
