I don't even know why they keep bringing back Megas just for them to job like this.

Megas used to be near invincible against anything that wasn't another Mega (or Ash-Greninja) but now they can be beaten by regular, non-Mega Pokemon, which defeats the whole point.

Stat boosts work differently in the anime. They only apply to the next attack and can't be stacked. Dragonite used up its Dragon Dance boost on Hurricane.

It didn’t job. Korrina usually uses Swords Dance to power up Lucario but here she relied on the Mega’s sheer strength. She even commented on Ash using power up moves as being unusual because he almost never does, and ironically that’s what led to his win

Korrina only ever used Swords Dance before Lucario learned Aura Sphere. After that, it forgot Swords Dance and never used it again. It used its Mega form and Power-Up Punch for boosts after that.

It was never stated that Dragonite had Multiscale. Abilities almost never come up in the anime unless the plot demands it. Pikachu has Static, but it only ever came up twice as a deus ex machina to bail Pikachu out of a tough spot.

Levitate just lets them dodge attacks like Earthquake by floating. Being able to float (which Gengar can still do) does nothing when you're being smacked with a bone.
