What are some good ideas for postgame activities besides completing the Pokédex & shiny hunting? I liked the idea of Legendary trainers in LGPE but I heard they each only had 1 Pokémon. I think 50-100 of them each with a full team of 6 is a good idea.

A co-op based multiplayer where players get paired together with only 3 Pokémon of their own and must battle through all of the games gym/island/whatever leaders in a Boss Rush mode, which can also be done alone.

OR go really in on the RPG elements and have a massive open world where you can ACTUALLY go anywhere from the start.

It wouldn’t be that difficult but I thought if Pokémon just incorporated more shit like that, or other weird battle modes, it’s be a lot more fun.

Battle Frontier. Bring back 4 or 5 of them plus the Pokémon world tournament. Each facility has a bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond stamp. In order to unlock the Pokémon world tournament you have to get a bronze stamp in each other facility. BP rewards would work like this.

With actually difficult teams too. Maybe even a special user generated one that’s changed specifically depending on your team types.

Bronze: 1BP after each win. 10 BP every 5 wins. After 10 wins you earn the Bronze stamp.

Silver: 2 BP after every win. 15 BP after every 5 wins. 20 BP after 10 wins and you earn a silver stamp.

Gold: 5 BP after every win. 25 BP after every 5 wins. 50 BP after every 10 wins. After 20 wins you earn a Gold stamp.

Platinum: 10 BP after every win. 50 BP after every 5 wins. 100 BP after every 10 wins. After a 25 game winstreak you get a Platinum stamp and reach Diamond.

Diamond: 20 BP × # of games your on your winstreak after every win. 150 BP every 10 wins. Win 30 games and you get a diamond stamp, 500BP and a trio of 6 IV starters from another region.

I should also add that every loss doesn't send you all the way to the beginning necessarily.

Loss at Bronze: -5 wins from your streak
Loss at Silver: -7 wins from your streak
Loss at Gold: - 10 wins
Loss at Platinum: -12 wins
Loss at Diamond: -15 wins
It can prob be balanced a lot better.

Add in 1 or 2 dungeons that are rather lengthy in the postgame. Fill it with strong trainers and have a Legendary Pokemon at the end with another trio of legends hidden in the dungeon.

Completing the Pokédex
Catching all of the available Legendaries
100 Legendary trainers
Co-op Boss Rush
Battle Frontier + PWT
2 More big dungeons to complete.

All of this combined with online battling/breeding/shiny hunting would be a more extensive postgame than most other RPGs would have and I'd buy this.

A lot more new areas unlocked.
A lot more places to explore with reasons to revisit old routes.
Rematchable trainers and gyms with teams that get stronger after every rematch up to a certain point.
Give you the option to double or single battle when rematching trainers.
Strong familiar trainers from other regions visiting your current region and you get the opportunity to battle them.
Quests to catch legendaries being more involved. Caves to go through to get legendaries being challenging.
Emerald Battle frontier.
Contests. Add a battle round to the contests.
Maybe a post-game periodic tournament event. Main game has the standard elite 4 + champion, postgame has something like what Galar had except executed a lot better.
Roaming Pokemon/swarms/basically any other time based events that have been tried before but removed for some stupid reason.

Not exclusively post game but improving on Poké Pelago. Make it a much bigger area you can visit and see your PC pokémon roam about where you can also decorate to attract new mons.
