>>43971573>But just bumping up the enemy levels so they do and take less damage is shit design for a turn based rpg.i mean, generally I would agree, but the numbers really are too low, trainers have too few pokémon at too low levels for when you face them, it's all but impossible to not be consistently overleveled for the stuff you're put up against unless you go out of your way to avoid fights. That's shitty balancing.
Another thing that would be great for difficulty would be to do away with the retarded type-based gym design.
Build gyms around THEMES instead of types so that every single gym isn't just "Pick a single mon with a good matchup and sweep"
