Nice region, one of the last games with dungeons even if already made easy.
The aesthetics were also nice.
Battles and rematches (lol) not so much, at least still had some post game missions like Gen 7 to a degree.

If a Pokemon Z was released that fixed all the problems and added in all the clearly missing content, then this would be one of the better generations

As it is, it's a very mediocre entry to the series

Kalos got me back into Pokémon after the trainwreck that gen 5 was. It lacked endgame content and was a bit easy but otherwise it was a fun game.

I love Kalos aswell. It feels unfinished and unpolished but it still captured what made pokemon so good. Still feels like a pokemon region first and foremost

I don't think it is the region with the most "soul" but I actually like the places here,the roads and cities all look good and the music themes fit with the cities.
But the League at night is still one of the most beautiful places in all of the games.

Kalos is a beautiful region and has one of the strongest overworld OSTs throughout Pokemon. Just because the rest of the game is mediocre doesn't mean the region and the music are not .

I've been replaying Kalos through X after playing Y years before. It's better than I remember. This long stretch between the first and second gyms is pretty cool.

The Central and Mountain portions of Kalos actually have a lot of charm, just about every town is memorable and has a great sense of atmosphere. That dies for Coastal Kalos. While the seaside cliffs/geography was fun to explore, the cities themselves don’t stand out aside from Geosenge Town and the Tower of Mastery (Cyllage, Shalour and Coumarine all deserved more unique looks imo)
