Ground typing makes sense in this context, idiot.

Urshifu gets its typing based on its fighting style, the one it adopts in the tower of darkness emphasizes on rigid solid footing and sheer power, so the “dark” typing makes no sense. The rapid strike form is supposed to be free-flowing, quick to react to change, be in multiple states and fit many containers/situations. The water typing makes sense, while dark does not.

In martial arts youll hear the phrase "to be like water". A rock in a stream sits their unmoving but its presents does not block the flow of water, mearly diverts it. Rapid Style makes sense to be water. Dark also make sense because martial arts was created to train the weak to defend themselves if they were invaded. So to make a martial arts that only the strong can weild is a dark path. Further more if we did take teachings from martial arts I have no doubt that -Bug, -Flying, -Rock, and -Steel were brought up. Bug and Flying because of Mantis and Crane styles, Rock and Steel from the very American ideal that "martial arts makes your body into a weapon" so first weapon of man were stones followed by swords.
Personally the yin and yang of martial arts ideals makes sense to me.

Because the earth doesnt move, there is no martial arts that is about not moving.
You could argue that the worlds gravity is what pulls water, but the moon also does the same thing to water. Water will always flow somewhere just as your hands or your feet will.

Make the other form's signature move a King's Shield/Obstruct/etc. clone (Disables the move used to strike it?). Then grant the two defensive Urshifu flavours a signature ability which lets parry moves block anything, including Feint, Max moves, Z-moves and moves affected by Unseen Fist.

Singleshifu has the coverage to deal with fairies.
Also, switching out is a thing. Plenty of mons with 4x weakness have not only been good, but meta staples.

You're underestimating just how oppressive this thing is.
Slow fat mons are destroyed by it, and you can't switch in a scarfer or fast offensive mon into the band set without it getting OHKO or worse. Only box legends have the bulk to switch in on Urshifu and outspeed it.
Urshifu is like Hoopa-Unbound on speed, since it actually has a good if awkward speed tier. While not splashable like Dragonium Z Naganadel, if you build your team around supporting Urshifu you literally pound anything that isn't webs HO into oblivion.
