Simisear continues this trend, that only has any popularity at all thanks to hot monkay dik, which is only funny because of how unapologetically awful Simisear is.
Remember, this is the least liked pokemon of all time (though I wouldn't be shocked if some people out to prove a point ironically have changed that by now).
Pansage is quite a bit better, which is to say it's a pokemon you might even want to use for a bit before dumping it. Monograss is ass, even if Simisage gets around some of the worst parts of monograss shitmon syndrome.
Panpour is by far the best of the bunch, but also faces the most direct competition in Tympole. They start about the same, Panpour gets Scald and blows it the fuck out for a while, then Simipour's shit BST and lack of anything else of note besides Scald falls by the wayside of an actually pretty good pokemon in Seismitoad.
Add to the fact that they are shitty giftmons the game "encourages" you to use, have nothing to their designs besides the fact that they are monkeys, and "omfg, hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil guys", and are in a game that is otherwise really good about giving you lots of teambuilding options, and it's no wonder that nobody likes them.
Finally, Simisear in particular has to deal with the fact that there are two fire monkeys in gen 5 (Darmanitan is close enough in most people's minds), of which it is absolutely the shittier.
