Megas will likely come back eventually. I would assume them to be a DLC perk at this rate like following Pokemon. Pokemon Go being the latest to retain them is a big deal they're not dropping them.

I'm fine with them retconning most megas because their designs are shit but the likes of Mawile and Lopunny were really good

LGPE didn't have the "agony", so it's kind of hinting at Rotomdex being a little shit.

Not in the Gen 8 game so far but the last games had them, GO's getting them, and for a supposed retconned gimmick it's still around everywhere else. Z-moves though, well, Necrozma's limping right now and ever since the last games.
