If that's the first one then it only had like 60 Pokemon implemented and it's main purpose was for use at official tournaments or something like that. How fucking bizarre is that?

We never got that game at all. That's the actual Pokemon Stadium 1. The Pokemon Stadium we got is the sequel, and our Stadium 2 is actually the 3rd game.

On a similar note. There was an updated version of Battle Revolution that included the new forms introduced in Platinum like Origin Form Giratina, Shaymin-Sky, Rotom forms, and updated character models. It was never released publicly. I swear that I saw footage of it in motion, but all a quick search provided was a screenshot of Dawn in her Platinum outfit. I seriously can't find any more info on it, but I know footage existed of Origin Form Giratina and a Rotom-Frost

It was where they got their first taste for having unique assets for the world finals to build hype.
Afterward they would start building unique songs and battle arenas only used for the finals directly into the games.

It is a "DEMO" version of the Stadium (US) that we had in its day for our lands.

It didn't leave Japan because it didn't have commercial sense, the same as it happened with the Pokemon Green, that had uglier sprites than the ones that came to the west with Pokemon Blue and Red (they had the sprites of the Pokemon Ao - blue japanese game was actually a third version, and the 4th was the Yellow Pikachu edition)

Green didn't reach the west because Red & Blue as colors are seen as "opposites" here, while in Japan it's Red & Green. They also released here way after Blue JP did, which was essentially a bugfix patch.

Technically we didn't get Japanese Green, Red, or Blue. Our Red and Blue versions are not the same as theirs. For release outside of Japan, they took the Japanese Blue's sprites, script updates and bugfixes as a base for both Red and Blue, and then used the exclusives list from Japanese Red for our version of Red and exclusives from Green for our version of Blue, making games that aren't the exact same as anything from Japan.
