Realistically, what are the chances of us getting another wave of DLC?
I legitimately would love another 1-2 DLC area. Imagine restarting Sword and Shield and playing through the game with 4 DLC's installed.
The ONLY issue is it would need some sort of rebalancing so that you could go through DLC zones and not overlevel for the main campaign too hard. Maybe some sort of hard mode?

If there are more DLC areas, they'll most likely be sold separately from the original expansion pass (if Smash Bros is anything to go by). So I'd rather they just make the remaining ~200 Pokemon transferable via Home in a free update rather than making all 900 Pokemon catchable in a single game for an extra $30.

I would say they're pretty low. As you saw, the DLC failed to get alot of people back, we only had roughly 300 000 people killing Zeraoras, so that looks like less than 10% of the game's userbase bought the DLC.

MEANWHILE, a remake or third version or whatever, easily sells an average of 9 to 10 million units. For 60 dollars, not just 30.

Why would Gamefreak make more DLC when it is clearly less profitable than other ventures?

Because it's probably profitable. DLC takes less work to create then making a whole new game and people will usually eat it up as long as their are new pokemon available. I don't think the Zeraora kills is a good way to measure the user base. A lot of people probably bought it for the short story, pokemon, or just the bundle and have no intention in the max raid battles.

What does that have to do with literally anything?
I have the DLC and I haven't killed a single Zeraora and I don't really plan to anytime soon.
People aren't bothering with killing Zeraora because retardedly enough Gamefreak put very little incentive into doing so. It's just not worth the time and effort.

It means the number of people brought back by the DLC is abysmal compared to what a third version or remake can do. Even if the DLC was profitable, it is likely significantly less profitable than non-DLC work, and thus, I doubt they have reason to keep doing them.

You have to beat it once to count. It takes less than 5 minutes.

only if they really sell well, dlcs can last for years with season passes, if not look at Smash Bros Ultimate, they still get games.

As for the difficulty, you can add it as Zelda, but the ideal in Pokemon in the Global Online Competition, with experienced people, much more challenging than an AI programmed in a video game (and if you don't play the Stadium or the Battle Tower of the Pokemon Crystal, to know what is unfair in a battle)

Depends on the sales : development cost ratio. If it's high, we'll get more DLC. Simple as that. TPCi and GF are not fooling anyone about previous shady tactics when it comes to making a profit, and the annual releases have only made this more clear.

They won't give a shit about some vague "balancing" with the main game and levels. It's about what sells. Fans don't want to hear about how the game they already beat is getting a level balance adjustment. They want to hear about the new shit they can buy.

Having to buy the DLC be separate for both games was a weird fucking decision considering there is almost no difference. Most likely it was a gamble to make some cucks spend $60 after also buying both games.

Nintendo is used to some people quadruple dipping. Like last gen. People bought both Sun and Moon and then bought both Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon when they came out. If less people buy both sets of DLCs than the last gen bought the third versions, then I see third versions making a comeback.

I have several irl friends who have NSO + DLC + Sword.
They don't like doing raids online because the connectivity is shit and they never get people to join/ can never join others.
They aren't aware that getting the wild area news is something they have to do to get updates to raids.
Hell, a lot of them don't even like raids.
