Mario and pokemon are the most important videogame franchises in the world and pokemon has a cast of hundreds of varied characters with different abilitites.

Pokemon is terribly represented though, shit like Pichu, Jiggylpuff, Squirtle and Ivysaur should have never been added, instead they should have used those slots in actual interesting pokemon. But still, one pokemon for each gen seems fair enough.
As for Mario, despite the terrible decision of adding Piranha plant is Ultimate, its still underrepresented. But we dont need the irelevant Waluigi like reddit thinks, we still need King Boo, Geno and Paper Mario.
