You can play forever as long you don't lose, because the stamina cockblock system is tied to your "lives".
Later levels though are designed to screw free players because they're way harder to clear without premium helping items. That doesn't mean that they're impossible though, it's just that you will lose a bunch of times and be forced to wait for the stamina. But it's still the best implementation of freemium game I've ever seen.
