I won't deny its a gimmick move but given how much importance terrain has been given this gen I can only imagine people will begin to use it. In the case of Smogon, mega Blastoise with coverage of psychic, electric, fairy, psychic types plust a boost from it's ability in doubles sounds very interesting. It goes from 50bp to 100bp if there's a terrain effect. Pretty good imo

All the Pokemon that set Electric terrain are Electric, all that set Grassy are Grass, all that Psychic are Psychic, and the only Pokemon you could ever use it as a gotcha against is Tapu Lele, since neither Psychic or Fairy resist Fairy.

Game Freak replaced Megas with the worst gimmick in all of Pokemon. Mega Blastoise no longer exists, and thank God for that, since Blastoise got Shell Smash.

You can still use it in doubles, though.
Give a mon Terrain Pulse, and have it partner up with a terrain setter.
Still not great, but useable.
