This thing just completely dunked on a guy's Urshifu and Mimikyu and I've always loved Palossands design but god damn I'm glad I finally have an excuse to use it.

Also post Palossands. Sandygasts are welcome too.

I'm gonna transfer the one I had from gen 7 over to gen 8. He'll probably the be only one I do that with, honestly, since I think he'll do better in gen 8 than gen 7. It's a genuinely awesome mon and I wish it was a more common sight, though I guess not being everywhere works in it's favor.

Water Compaction is niche, but it's a really fun niche.

Its of lesser note but Palossand got Terrain Pulse too. Having a 1.3x boosted 100 bp electric move to hit flyers is kino.

I don't even think he needs that. Palossand is literally the best user of Scorching Sand in the game (it has the highest sp.atk of any ground type with the move and can abuse the burn it causes with it's already massive bulk to become an insanely durable wall).

but Dynamax is allowed. How is Terrain Pulse going to do anything when the Terrain is going to be set up by something that resists the same type? Honestly that move seems like either a really bad joke or they assumed they were adding another Weather Ball but in reality made a really shitty version of Weather Ball

I like this boi, was really excited to use it in Gen VII. However, my largest issue and disappointment with it is that Water Compaction didn't grant a Water Immunity. If they did that, then Palossand would be a true Chad mon.

EVs: 252 Defense, 252 Special Defense
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk, 0 Spd
- Iron Defense
- Amnesia
- Shore Up
- Infestation / Sand Tomb
Basic chip damage set. Alternatively you can use Sandstorm and Scorching Sands for alternate chip, but you don't see the partial trapping moves too often. If you use Sandstorm just use Sand Veil, it's better. Rocky Helmet can work too, just invest max Defense instead.

Palossand @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Sand Compaction
EVs: 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rock Polish
- Earth Power
- Shadow Ball
- Giga Drain / Terrain Pulse
Palossand brings with it lots of weaknesses, so Weakness Policy is just about the only way to boost its offenses. Giga Drain for some recovery, or Terrain Pulse if you're running a terrain on your team.
