Will only get better from here. The main development team is now working closely with the company that does the animations for the trading card game commercials (I think they did the animation for Pyro ball too) to improve quality of graphics and animations. The Sinnoh remakes and subsequent main games will look noticeably better but not photorealistic. All games from now on will have a freely rotating camera and will have a way to unlock following Pokémon.

These will be exclusive to the remakes and let’s go games. Megas will be patched into Sword and Shield when the Sinnoh remakes are released. Going forward it will always be like this where the new generation gets release without Megas in the code but they will be patched in if that generation includes a remake. For example, in the gen 9 games, megas will not be patched in because the gen 5 remakes are not planned for that generation.
