Nobody uses ingame teams for competitive battles, and playing competitive does not desintegrate your ingame team. The worst thing is the sperg in the image OP posted is autistic enough to complain about a generation 5 only ban on a heliolisk.

That image always makes me cringe. You can be good at competitive and still use the Pokemon you like. I used a team with 0 OU mons in Gen 6 and would still win through the 1800s with it. Just understand the meta and know what kind of support you need to cover your bases.

I don't 'abandon' Pokemon I like, I just build teams that try to capitalize on their innate strengths.

OP here, I tried to import my level 79 Heliolisk which I bred in ORAS on Showdown and it wouldn't even let me. F*ck Smogon for forcing you to choose artificial creations from the teambuilder.

That's true, but because you need experience too. If you defeated a low ladder player that uses a smogon sets, it doesn't mean the sets are bad, it means the player was bad. The "smogon predictable" meme exists because retards dont know how the elo system works and think they are good because they defeated a lando-meta tryhard using some pu shitmons against him. The truth is if you cant defeat 1000-1300 elo noobs with ZU mons you do not have what it takes.

It isn’t the most popular but it gets discussions about it. I once got to 1600 when i was getting into competitive in gen 6 and i’m just gonna tell you it’s just worse ubers, with evasion, sleep spam etc.

The most fun I've ever had playing with other people was being the ground type gym leader at an anime con that staged their own league (go around the con and find and beat 8 gym leaders on Friday and Saturday of the con, and then you get to enter the leaque tournament on Sunday to compete for prizes).
