The franchise has plenty of potential for many things, so it's amazing how GF is determined to make it about laziness first and foremost.

Pokémon franchise is about Pokémon species. The most known slogan was "Gotta catch'em all" which has nothing to do with battles.

Yes, Pokémon Snap is exciting because we can know better the Pokémon universe taking photos on it than battle with Charizard and Lucario over and over again but in different games and spin-offs.

These people are massive autists because lots of details of the Pokemon setting are intentionally kept ambiguous or left unexplained specifically because exploring them would get in the way of battling.

No it's specifically because TPC won't allow it. You ever notice how early on the anime did try to expand on some of the things that the games left vague or unexplained, but then was sanitized into a carbon copy of the game universe?

Look, I think we both agree they are lazy fucks. Only difference is that I don't explain it by saying they wanted the series to remain focused on battle. They are more than happy to allow to slap the franchise's name on a game (like Puzzle League) if it means they don't have to work too hard.

OP is a fucking faggot as usual. Pokémon is not only about battling, it's also about friendship. Pokémon are magical pets, so shit like Snap, Amie or the Poké Walker completely fit the theme of the franchise.

It wasn't the Pokemon in the game that made Pokken fail. It was the general lack of Pokemon. It's a fighting game, where they actually play differently so a huge roster wasn't really feasible, but Pokemon fans are used to having a large selection of interchangeable Pokemon to pick from. Your average Pokemon fan isn't really interested in the unique characteristics of each Pokemon.
