To be fair, I am genuinely concerned for Joe's health. He is constantly glued to the internet for Pokemon news so he can rush and be the first to report everything. Remember when he brought a laptop to his brother's wedding so he wouldn't be late to update?

I think he tells himself these things aren't bad not to convince us. He's trying to convince himself so he doesn't feel like an idiot when he covers it. Which I don't get, there's nothing saying he has to cover all of these shit spinoffs other than him sticking to his word.

I also think he's not used to arguing with people who use 4chan lingo so to him anyone who says something like "wtf man why are you doing this" that's literal abuse.

I think he's deluding himself, too. He's obtained his entire reputation based on Pokemon, he might feel stuck with it despite having skills that could net him a living far away from the subject.

With that said, if he's really determined to retain the site's reputation as one of the best fan sites, he actually does kind of have to cover every little thing. And let's be real, for the longest time Serebii was where people went for news. It was reliable, and Joe probably had to keep up some pretty fucking strenuous habits to keep it reliable.

Besides half the shit he covers comes from other sources like datamines. He's not playing through each and every game for thousands of hours figure out every minute detail.

Not saying it's not a lot of work, but he's not finding everything out himself. It only took him 3 days to get the DLC stuff on the site (a dataminer probably shared it though). Which is pretty fast considering how in depth everything is. All the shit sites that cover a multitude of games gor stuff out day one but a lot of it wasn't in-depth.
