>>44014261Pokken DOES have actual fighting game mechanics: Characters have unique movelists and inputs there's cancels, just-frames, an attack height system, etc. It's straight up a traditional 2d fighter in the 2d phase, which is what the game is designed around, with the 3d phase moreso just being a mechanic that acts as an anti-infinite system that both foirces a return to neutral and adds a second buffer layer of neutral; and also encourages adaptions since at high level play you need to change your combo composition and bnb choices based on if switching phases or not would be to your advantage: Maybe you can do a higher damage upside if you stay in the 2d phase but shifting would lock in at least some damage vs you having to do a reset in 2d; or shifting would give you extra meter even if the combo would do less damage, etc.
>>44011830>>44011168Probopass as a puppet character is interesting, though Id imagine it's less puppet and more trap based using his satilite/funnel noses as like placable laser things he can trigger. That's pretty similar to how Darkrai plays but it could be neat.
Ditto I think would be best served working like Double from Skullgirls (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sA2hB8kuSmU) where each of his moves transforms him into another character and preforms one of their moves for the duration of it. That or just straight up have it be that when both players are using the same character, one of them starts as a ditto in the intro animation.
>>44013497Okay, so those are some move ideas, but what will there actual utility be in fighting game terms and how do they synergize with each other. What';s his overall playstyle like?
>>44012873I mean, not particularly well, but they still have it at Worlds and will be having an online qualifier for it next month;for example, and the invitational they also have for it will actually be streamed on the main Pokemon twitch channel instead of the seperate Pokken one for once
