You ever think about how Togetic (the original final evolution) clearly is not at all large enough to lay the egg that Togepi comes in?

Even for Togekiss, most of its bulk seems to be floof. Lay that raises . . . questions.

I wish more Pokémon were iconic for their shapes and colors alone. I'd say the whole Togepi line is extremely iconic.

If you saw a white car in real life with red an blue triangles on it, you'd immediately think of these guys.

The only good art of Togekiss is off-model.

The whole line is excellent but I'd be one of my all time favorites if Togekiss looked more like this. It's just hard to grow attached to something so. . . . plane-shaped.

Thing with that is that Pokémon's egg system is more of a gameplay thing than anything else and it's more believable that they'd reproduce in ways more typical of the organisms they're based on. Thus Cutiefly probably does lay normal bug eggs but for gameplay reasons have the same egg model everything else does.

But the Togepi line was MADE for the whole egg mechanic in the first place. There is no discrepency with the size of the eggs they lay because Togepi are still wearing them at all times. The eggs are MASSIVE.

This whole line is strange, and it is especially strange that they choose to emphasize the "spiky" aspect of it despite them being peaceful.

Toge- means spike (Togedemaru being a porcupine too) and Togepi's species name is Spike Ball. It learns Smart Strike, too. They all have head spikes but it's not as those they're prominent, and it's really odd to make that a huge part of their iconography.

It honestly makes me wonder if perhaps these guys are actually based on something that no one has picked up on yet.
