Noctowl is probably the worst, but it's my favorite. Love the design and I'm a Johtoddler. Honestly I like all of the regional birds, though.

Used this guy instead of the shitty starters in UM, such a based bro. Beak Blast shuts down every physical attacker in the game near enough, and Skill Link Bullet Seed/Rock Blast fucks shit up. I kept a Scope Lens on him and you're basically guaranteed a crit or two each time

Gen IV is when I got back into Pokemon post Gen 2 and had to learn how to properly build and train a team (instead of being 8 and using your starter the whole game)
This nigga saved my ass more times than I can count.

I honestly chop it up to my inability to understand grinding as a kid. As a kid I just wanted to "go to next part" so trainer battles and random encounters annoyed me. That said it's hilarious now, I played Blue when it released on the eShop and it takes maybe less than a hour to grind a entire party up to snuff in each area.

I really like Corviknight. Usually I'm not a fan of stall, but I love going on BSS and watching people struggle to take him out. I just wish his G-Max form wasn't garbage.
Talonflame and Pelliper are also pretty cool.
