Take about 200 point out of defensive stats and redistribute them into offense.

Rock/Ice is already a contender for the worst defensive type ever, so Aurorus has an uphill battle.
Biggest change is more speed. Aurorus needs to be more offense-oriented.
Also access to Aurora Veil, and maybe even Boomburst just to really go all-out.

The thing with Tyranitar is that it has 600BST, pretty good ability and only one 4 x weakness.
Aurorus has none of these positivities and is 4 x weak to THREE common type that is fighting, ice and Fire, with few 2x too.

Ice needs 1 less weakness and 1-2 more resistances. Rock needs the same, especially to itself.

Yes and? It is already good but it's not the only one who get advantage of this. There's more Pokémon that need see the x4 gone than competitive Pokémon that doesn't need the change. Also it is possible that some Pokémon that loses its x4 weak to ground or rock become on its counter or something

Grass/rock bug/rock are very bad ice/rock at least has some resists which gives it switch in oppurtunitys aurorus is bad but it is much better then most shitmons and it was Nu in XY and due to SR+Snow warning it also has some uses in higher tiers.

Anon never said that every mon with a 4x weakness is bad.
Just that for some mons, removing their 4x weakness is their only hope of ever being decent.
Tyranitar has enough going for it that dying to a Tyrogue's Mach Punch almost doesn't seem so bad.

It's not 4x weak to fire.
There exists zero type combos that have three 4x weaknesses. Only gen 1 grass/bug had that when bug was weak to poison.

Now you can choose between a scarf set with the strongest STAB boomburst in the game (of one of the best offensive types no less), or an aurora veil setter that also has rocks, unlike abomasnow.

It's nothing amazing, but it's more threatening than before.

The entire Pokemon is like some sick fucking joke. It literally got dealt the worst cards imaginable and it's missing absolutely everything that it logically should have. I can't imagine what kind of pain this Pokemon's fans are going through, assuming it even has any.

Bug/Grass is especially fucked, because not only do plenty of things resist both your STABs, but plenty of things x4 resist both your STABs, and you probably have zero coverage options.

bug/rock & bug/grass are bad because they have no resitances meaning they can't switch into anything for single's this is very important. shuckle and armaldo are an example of bug/rock, shuckle being only used as a suicide lead and armaldo only being usefull on monobug as a rapid spinner despite having some decent tools.

bug/rock barely has any resistances but hardly any weaknesses either. Better than bug/grass which has weaknesses to nearly everything

"b-b-but you might be able to switch into a water attack!" until they kill you with ice beam. Grass is the only type you could maybe switch into reliably, and resisting grass is no notable feature.
