MK8 is the best selling game on the Switch, how much more popular would it need to be then that? But yeah outside of BotW Link they didn't get much new content added. Strangely that Mobile game of all things got Diddy Kong and Pauline added but with Nintendo giving up on mobile I would not be surprised if they port them to MK8 in the future.

As someone that thinks Mario Odyssey is his favorite game in history, I'm okay with no DLC, because I want the Mario team to jump straight to the next big game instead of spending time supporting a past game.

Pokemon DLC is fine by me because, let's be honest, if they weren't doing DLC they would be doing a third version instead anyway or a remake or whatever, but I'd really rather have teams working on full games all the time than I'd want expansions of past experiences.

you gotta consider that MK was bundled with switch. most of the sales aren't because it's a demanding game, it's because it was bundled with the console itself.

But MK8 wasn't bundled. It was bundled with the Wii U, but Switch has had no long-standing MK8 Bundle beyond a Black Friday deal years ago.

MK8D is just selling insanely well because it's -the- casual multiplayer game. Like, my fucking sister woke me up when it came out asking me to buy it and she doesn't even PLAY videogames. MK is THAT fucking big.

Because it's a casual game. That doesn't change the fact that it's insanely popular and that a huge chunk of people with switches got mario kart as soon as they could.

Also, it's like Wolfe said. It's a mediocre DLC that probably isn't worth it for casual players, but did a lot for competitive.
Unless you're like 12, I'm unsure why you're playing Pokemon for anything than competitive anyways

And Animal Crossing is supposed to be a casual game that you can play however you want. People time traveling doesn't affect your experience at all.

It's not "free". You paid for the content when you bought the game in the first place. Nintendo just decided to arbitrarily withhold it. A shitty business practice doesn't become acceptable just because another business practice is worse.
