It's one of the best seasons so far tho? It's actualy fun and breezy and the two leads actualy have a good dynamic. It's much more fun than the past few have been, specially since it's just telling stories instead of being forced to shill the newest bad game.

Inteleon isn't "widely" popular in Japan, only with fujos. Cinderace meanwhile, actually moves product and merch of it sells like hotcakes.
Also Corviknight is the most popular 8th Gen Pokemon in Japan and it hasn't been announced to be caught yet.

Rowlet got cucked out of evolving because he ended up alot more popular than his evolved form, yet, Inteleon ranked above Sobble in popularity in various polls, meaning there is no reason to assume he'll be dumped like that, unless someone is really particularly autistically angry at the cartoon lizard and wants to assume the worst.

Korrina is probably going to be recurring character and part of Ash's Riolu's character arc, culminating in it evolving and Ash being given his own Mega Ring and Lucarionite. They didn't just bring back Korrina, they brought her grandpa back too.

No one ever said he couldn't get both Sobble and Grookey; he still has a slot open after Sobble. Unless Chloe/Koharu suddenly becomes a main character (it's been explicitly stated that she isn't one), he'll probably end up with Grookey too, making it the third time where Ash gets two starters and his friend gets one.
