Have trade evolutions ever been properly explained in the anime or manga? I mean in a biological sense, how does trading evolve pokemon? When did the practice of "Trading" become a thing within the Pokemon universe? Were Pokemon such as Gengar, Alakazam, Steelix, etc etc unknown or undiscovered before then? Was the first guy who traded for his buddies Machoke shocked when it turned into something new?
