With Hidden Power gone, what move should I give to my Magnezone? I currently have Volt Switch, Flash Cannon, and Tri Attack.

on my specs mag i run volt switch thunder bolt and flash canon, the last moveslot can literally be whatever you want. Maybe steelbeam? I haven't checked if it learned that.

Balloon is not a good option since it gives up a lot of needed offensive power. I think a Magnet Rise Specs set works better, though I'd rather use Magnet Rise on an Assault Vest set because of the defensive synergy it provides

Magnet Rise specs is not great, but MR Scarf is actually useful because it allows you to set it up against fast threats and can provide good coverage for partners like Heatran or Pex, who value a ground inmunity. They should make MR synergize better with electric terrain somehow so it becomes a little less of a niche strategy

Magnet Rise only works on the user and wears off if you switch out.

It can't trap Ferrothorn anymove but it's still nice for the other steel types in OU (+all the other slow/fat shit it hits super effectively)
Is Substitute+Charge Beam still a thing? It sucked in gen 6 and gen 7 but maybe it could work in gen 8. I don't know shit about gen 8 because I'm still stuck in gen 7

Yes but steel beam is still useful for 1 Hit Ko's, even if it cost HP. Sadly even with Zone's defense body press just doesn't do enough damage, since not fully defense invested
