IMO it was USUM. It barely added anything new and was just a cashgrab, but at least you know for a fact it was a million times better than...the current gen.

With that said, Gen 6 was great too. Had a lot of potential, but it never achieved what it could’ve been...

gen 6 wasn't the last good gen, it was the last gen that could've been saved if GF pulled their heads out of their asses. X and Y were solid bases and I have zero doubts that Z would've been the best pokemon game by a country mile if it had been given the same level of care as prior third versions. Yet here we are in the worst timeline where the game was shitcanned and SM were rushed out, leading to TCPi realizing they didn't have to release good games anymore.

XY had a lot of positivities and had some genuinely great ideas. Sadly it lacked polish and a lot of details (like Trevor's story which could be salvaged into best rival ever but was not lol) was too easy to miss.
