Why did people get up in arms about the “fag” in “Cofagrigus” but not the “kunt” in “Skuntank”?

It wasn't people, it was the word filter that they introduced in Gen 5

Because Cofagrigus is a Unova pokemon so it was more noticeable. Many more people had it.
