Celedon Rocket Base went smoothly up until Giovanni. My team was at full strength even though my rules forbid leaving a structure until its goal has been completed. I lead with Banjo who successfully Sleep Powdered Onix, double Growthed, and then swept both Onix and Rhyhorn. Then came Khangaskahn, who was completely unfazed by +2 SpAtk Ivysaur's Razor Leaf, and forced me to switch out. Yuna died almost instantly due to having the defenses of a marshmallow. Daisy survived some nasty hits and hit twice with Mud Shot, which reduced Kangaskahn's speed by -2, then I had to switch out.

Sad I lost Kyranos to Hitmonchan's Counter, but other than that it was pretty smooth. I guess Platinum is next.

Suffered some serious loss at the hands of Crasher Wake. Gligar and Pachirusu, who I spent hours grinding, perished due to Floatzel. I also lost my Togetic and a Rhyhorn who I just caught. Luckily, Crobat saved the day for the second time and won us the fight, with itself and Houndour being the only survivors of the fight.

The end of my Black randomized nuzlocke was a real rollercoaster. Lenora led with a Drifloon without Aftermath, but her ace was a fucking Reshiram. It burnt through my entire team, which was only able to inflict chip damage and paralyze it (courtest of Flaaffy, my starter), until she arrived at Dusknoir. I hit it with a Confuse Ray and then spammed Ice Beam, which he learned through a TM in Wellspring Cave. She healed it, but through a combo Dusknoir's bulk and luck with confusion hacks (paralysis somehow never triggered once) I managed to get her down to 1 blip of HP before she finished Dusknoir with Fire Fang.

Basically, I just open three emulators at once and do three simultaneous Nuzlockes, but dupes clause applies to each. So stuff like Zigzagoon and Poochyena are stricken from all three games in the first few routes, allowing for more variety in the teams. You can also anticipate what's going to be available on future routes and try your best to get the right encounter for the right team (like using my Old Rod in Ruby because it was the only team without a Water-type).
I usually do little bursts in each game to keep them at the same point, but I hard stop myself at the gyms so all three fights can happen consecutively.
This shitty graphic is for me to keep track. The top boxes are my teams after each gym in each game, and the bottom boxes are the mons who died. The inner colour is the game they were from and the mon bellow was what killed them -- the badge meaning it was the leader's Pokémon.
As you can see, Emerald is having a rough time. Brawly got his shit pushed in by Beautifly and Kadabra in Ruby and Sapphire, but his buffed team in Emerald took Wingull and Gulpin for a wild ride. Only barely survived by Grovyle getting enough with Bullet Seed to finish it off.
Also fucken Whismur died by getting hit with a crit Ember from full, then also getting burned and dying to burn damage. He just got Silk Scarf, too.

It gets dicey when you lose a lot of stuff, too. For example, in my Emrald game right now, I only have Grovyle, Slakoth, and a death fodder Poochyena with no new encounters until Mauville.
It is really just an excuse to get more varied shit, though. I hate Nuzlocking a game vanilla and getting the same stuff every time. Feels less samey when they're just 1 of your 18 mons.

This is where the encounter pool drying up is looking scary. At least a Numel or a Machop could fit onto either team. The future will hopefully hold better things.
Ruby looks like it's better off, but not by a lot. Tentacool and Electrike are still lacking reliable STABs, or moves in general. Illumise is also unfortunately a total waste in-game, but it was temporarily useful for Charming Wattson's Voltorb so Selfdestruct didn't OHKO Shroomish.

Chaz took down roserade, and Sandra finished the fight off against Garchomp
this was the first time i ever finished a sinnoh game. some thoughts:
overall super super fun. diversity of catchable mons felt pretty decent, team galactic was an interesting evil faction in comparison to team rock, aqua, and magma. love love love how many tms can be found. didn't love how backtrack-ish it felt, there were a few times were i wasn't sure where to go either. also this game is slow as shit, which i never feel playing HGSS on console. thank god i emulated this. looking forward to platinum for all of the improvements and extra content

>>44071880 Selina the Purugly I used was kinda meh, Mid BST normal type with slim movepool. It helped me deal with Volkner and Cynthia with Captivate+Return. Thats really it. And Nuzlockes are for using pokémon you wouldn't use if you could choose.
On the up side since it only appears in ORAS as Mirage island pokémon it's basically a guarantee for a mon you wanna save for a later date. I'm actually surprised you used Rape Ape this early as opposed to using it in Plat.

Well lads had a pretty nasty wipe that's been hard to swallow. I've been playing Soul Silver and have been cruising through the post game made it to viridian town. I stumbled across the trainer house. I had no idea what it was I should have ran the second it saved my game. Got swept by some dickheads fraligatr that knew dragon dance. I didn't realise that items were not allowed and that Pokemon over 50 would be dropped back down. It's never running out of Pokemon that kills a nuzlocke for me.

Well Gardenia wasn't too bad after I got both Pixie and Arnold up to level 30. Pixie was the MVP though I did have to switch her out for Arnold because the Roserade still almost one shot the poor girl.

I finally powered through and faced the E4, final team was Jawhar, Poe, Sloppy, Charlemagn, Frostine and Obelix.
Poe and Obelix made a quick job of Will and Koga respectively.
Bruno was tougher, since I brought Sloppy to deal with him, but she's slow and Hitmonchan has Thunder Punch. I had to switch her out and finish his other pokémon while being careful, but we all survived.
Karen's Umbreon was a problem. It has Double Team, and being such a defensive pokémon, I couldn't take it out soon enough, so I sent Obelix to set up with curse, hoping RNG wouldn't be too bad for me. Eventually I managed to land a hit and Umbreon went down, after that I could counter her team easily with my own.
The fight against Lance didn't go as well as I hoped, but it's not something I wasn't expecting.
I had trained Frostine just to deal with his (ilegal) Dragonites, and she was able to take out one, but she wasn't able to finish the stronger one and died to Outrage.
I brought two Steel types to be able to deal with Dragon spam if this happened.
At the end, there were some close calls, but no one else fell in battle.
RIP Frostine.
With this I considered my run finished.
I'm not doing the extra Kanto part and finishing against Red because there's a huge level gap, more than 20 levels, between the strongest gym leader and Red, and I can't stomach grinding that much.
I'm not sure which one I'll play next, it's either ORAS or Platinum, but I'll be taking a break first.

Thank god my Persian learned Power Gem early on, but I really had no good option against all the Koffings that show up along that route. two more badges. maylene was a good team effort. Minuet took down meditite, Aislinn took care of machoke, and Ingham finished off lucario by landing two focus punches. Aislinn swept crasher wake thanks to thunder and being immune to all of quagsire's moves. caught a skorupi in the great marsh. kind of sucks now, but drapion looks fun.
