I'm emulating SWSH and currently halfway through the game.
Gotta say, it's not bad as I thought.
Apart from the annoying cast and their endless cutscenes, the game is kinda fun.
I liked the stadium battles and the towns and some areas look gorgeous.

It's the first game that I'm not feeling the music though, it feels so generic and forgettable.
Also why there's literally no likeable character in this game?
I loved Bea and Nessa in the twilight anime, but they barely have any character here.
Also, Fuck Bede, Hop, and Leon. they are cringe and annoying as shit

The outrage leading to the game's launch really made people go full retard. The game is just as mediocre as all the other Pokemon games since 2013, but a lot of surrounding circumstances broke the camels back. Nearly all the criticisms are valid but are greatly overstated. It does feel like a HD 3DS game which most didn't want. Those who say the game is a 0/10 and a disaster are just reactionary faggots that I can't take seriously since they are just as childish as those that say it's a great game and 10/10. The game is around a 6/10 not counting how the finished DLC will leave it.

That's most Gym Leaders in the franchise since most are only there to be obstacles for you, most are very basic and one note. They save Gym Leaders' development and personality for appearances in the Anime/future games. With the exemption of Gen 5 since Gym Leaders are semi relevant to the plot with them making multiple appearances through the game.

The games are serviceable, they're not amazing but they're not completely horrendous
I had fun with it, even though it's quite rough around the edges

The main campaign is easily the worst so far. Handholding out of the ass, you're overleveled most of the game, what little story there is is underwhelming and the game doesn't go far enough in exploring Hop, Bede, or Marnie, and Chairman Rose's plan is beyond retarded. The map is also the worst, routes are very linear, the towns and cities feel empty and unfinished, and we don't have a real cave like in past gens. SwSh's only saving grace is that the new mons are cool, it's easy to build a competitive team, and online ranked is fun.
