Pokemon games were better when they had HMs, this is an indisputable fact. HMs= backtracking and exploration

The idea of interacting with trees or rocks was cool but it wasted a slot (or more) in movepools.

I don't get what's the point of free move deleter + reminder actualy allowing to remind ALL moves that particular Pokemon knew during their life in every Pokecenter when there no reason to use them anymore.
This would be nice way to make HMs come back - teach some of your Pokemon needed HMs, go explore some cool optional area, go back to Pokecenter and if you don't need HMs you can go back to old moves in few minutes.
But alas, we have no cool optional areas and no HMs lol :V.

SM didn't handle it that well because the region outside of MeleMele is garbage
The pokeride was something that could've been explored a lot more

An easy solution to that would be allowing multiple moves to work as HM moves. There's no reason any of the slashing moves couldn't be substituted for Cut. Or Brick Break in place of Rock Smash.

While obstacles to come back to and move were more alleyways for exploration, HMs were the worst way to execute that. Like why make them unforgettable moves while also making most of them relatively bad? This could've easily been solved if they were just key items (or even some summonable mon like what SM did)
