In BF, you could use any pokemon you want, something that's extremely difficult to do on ranked especially if its a shitmon. The Battle tree Generals were fun because people would try and see who gets the highest streak before Cheating RNG kicked in. Even smogon had a leaderboard for it, provided you showed proof. You can peak top 500 and no one really cares except people looking for rentals.
